The Skills Center Job Coach works with applicants, current students and graduates to secure employment through active job search and partner relationship. The Job Coach works with a wide variety of employer partners in warehousing and culinary industries.
Job Responsibilities:
Creates necessary paperwork and communication relating to student job search needs including job search plans, resumes, and copies of certifications
Communicates with external partners regarding student employment opportunities and schedules/coordinates mock interviews for students
Schedule and conduct off site tours at employer sites
Completes all steps of the job search process including teaching job readiness class, searching for jobs, scheduling interviews, and accepting employment
Reviews student qualifications and partners with the employers according to program criteria
Maintains and strengthens existing relationships with employment partners
Enters and maintains Zoho database with students job search plans and employer information
Works proactively to ensure all students have a positive experience during the job search process
Gathers information regarding students individual progress, goals, and challenges from program staff and instructors
Main contact for all job search related inquiries
Conducts tours of Skills Center to prospective students, agency partners, and business partners
Shares feedback from local employers
Speaks on behalf of SMFBA in public settings
Education:
Bachelors degree and/or two years experience in a related position
Required Skills/Qualifications/Abilities:
Valid AZ Drivers License
High desire, motivation and comfort level helping at-risk individuals of diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds facing significant personal barriers to achieve greater self-sufficiency in their life through job training and placement. Includes working with individuals incarnated pre-release.
Previous job coaching, training, and/or outreach experience
Ability to identify trends and adjust strategies
Ability to foster and build positive relationships with others in all situations
Excellent organization and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity
Able to shift gears comfortably
Can assess and act without having the total picture
Well spoken in person and on the phone
Excellent presentation skills
Proven ability to handle adversity in a calm, professional, and confident manner
Ability to be compassionate and non-judgmental
Able to communicate with a wide range of individuals at varying levels of responsibility
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to speak persuasively to a variety of audiences including funders, agency partners, staff, students, Senior Staff, and Board Members
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
Application of pertinent employment laws, rules and regulations as applicable to students
General knowledge foodservice/warehousing
