Facilities Sanitation Associate

Department: Facilities
Location: Phoenix, AZ

The Facilities Sanitation Associate at St. Mary's Food Bank is responsible for maintaining our facilities internal / external appearance. Candidates must have experience in a custodian / sanitation role focused on building cleanliness, A keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative as a custodian / sanitation Associate.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
  • Clean and supply designated areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
  • Washing and disinfecting toilets, sinks and restocking disposables. (Tissue, seat covers, sanitary bags & hand towels) etc.
  • Wipe / disinfect mirrors, windows, and doors.
  • Document routine cleaning and maintenance needs.
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
  • Stock and maintain supply Cage.
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties and administrative functions as assigned by the Warehouse Management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or completed GED.
  • Minimum of (1) year experience in custodian / Housekeeping.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Ability to operate floor scrubbers and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to left/ move 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets.
  • Integrity and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of safe food handling procedures.
  • Honesty, Integrity, and commitment to the Food Bank mission
